Cheltenham Town manager Michael Duff believes Bury are the ‘best team in the league’ despite not being top of the table.
Duff was speaking ahead of their match against the Shakers on Tuesday night, and is wary of the talent that Ryan Lowe’s side have.
He said: “I still think Lincoln will win the league, but they have some good players, Bury. They’ve probably drawn too many games, but we’re going up their knowing we have to be at our very best to get anything from the game.”
Cheltenham head into the match against ninth place Bury in good form after forming a seven match unbeaten run in all competitions, and will be confident of getting a result.
Duff said: “In Danny Mayor they have the best player in the league. I think he can hurt you in may different ways.
“Nicky Maynard, he’s scored goals all of his career. He’s someone we also looked at bringing in. But they (Bury) can hurt you in may different ways”.
Duff was pleased with his side after their 2-1 victory over Newport County at the weekend, but he has since stressed the importance of moving on and staying focused.
“I think the players enjoyed the win a bit more,” he said.
“It’s not that I didn’t enjoy the win, but as a manager you do move on quickly, like ‘great, it’s done now lets move on’.
“It’s always one game at a time, but you also have to think of the bigger picture.”
