Richie Burnett has lost out to Adam Hunt in the final qualification match-up at the PDPA competition. The 51-year old, 1995 BDO world champion hasn’t appeared at the World Championships since 2014 where he lost out to Ian White in the third round.

The final three qualifiers for the 2018/19 World Championships were played on Monday afternoon and it saw Adam Hunt, Aden Kirk and Stephen Burton overhaul a handful of big names to come out on top. The draw that’ll take place at 5.30pm on Monday evening will also include female qualifiers Lisa Ashton and Anastasia Dobromyslova who competed in their newly created women’s qualifiers.
Newly crowned Players Championship winner Darryl Gurney will be the fifth seed and the reigning champion Rob Cross is number two. Gary Anderson and Michael Van Gerwen will be in the same side of the draw and could meet in the semi-final. The reigning back-to-back youth champion Dimitri Van Den Bergh has also qualified and will look to follow on from his recent good form through the Christmas period.

28 countries will be represented with five former or reigning champions amongst the draw and will pose some very interesting ties with a lot of players entering the competition on a decent run of form.
Barney Army coming to an end
Raymond Van Barneveld has announced this will be his penultimate World Championship following a career spanning three decades. The Barney Army is sure to be in good voice to help push their man along in his bid to add to his five world titles. He’ll be the number 17 seed.
