South African international Jaco Kriel has left Gloucester with immediate effect to return to the Lions in his home country.
The Cherry and White’s flanker has 11 international caps but has only featured five times this season for his club, scoring once in the Premiership Rugby Cup against Bath.
The back-row came to Gloucester from the Lions in 2018, he’d been at his previous club since his Super Rugby career began in 2011.
While at the Johannesburg based side, Kriel scored 22 tries during his first spell and returns to the side on a three-year deal.
The Lions announced the re-signing via their twitter account this morning.
