BREAKING: Former darts champion Richie Burnett one game away from qualifying for World Championship, aged 51

Former BDO world champion Richie Burnett is one game away from qualifying for the 2018/19 PDC world championship. Burnett, 51, will play Adam Hunt in the first of three PDPA qualifiers this afternoon for a place at the Alexandra Palace in December. Burnett hasn’t appeared at the World Championship since 2014 where he lost to Ian White in round three.

The other qualifiers will come from Madars Razma vs. Aden Kirk and Scott Taylor vs. Stephen Burton, who appeared at the recent Players Championship.

The three matches will finalise the 96 man and woman field ahead of the draw which is due to take place at around 5.30pm this afternoon. he draw will see two women at the competition with Anastasia Dobromyslova and Lisa Ashton qualifying via their own women’s competition.

The prize money has increased from last year with a total pot of £2.5m and the winner receiving half a million pounds.
